Spa de La Mer

recently visited Spa De La Mer yesterday and had a 8pm reservation, expecting a relaxing and luxurious experience, but unfortunately, my visit was anything but. First and foremost, the pricing was inconsistent and misleading. The price listed on the website, the confirmation email, and the final charge at checkout were all different, which is completely unacceptable. There should be transparency in pricing, not surprise charges at the end of a service. The women’s s dressing room and locker area were far too small for a facility of this caliber. It was cramped and uncomfortable trying to get ready both before and after the treatment. As for my actual service, the person performing it was rushing through the entire process, and in doing so, scrubbed my body so aggressively that I woke up this morning with black and blue marks. To make matters worse, after the treatment, she made no effort to assist me in learning how to operate the showers, leaving me confused and frustrated. My friend’s experience was just as disappointing, if not worse. She had a male masseuse who, in the middle of her massage, turned on the lights while she was turning over something that was highly inappropriate and completely disrupted her relaxation. Not only that, but he talked throughout the entire session, ruining what should have been a peaceful experience. To top it all off, when we were in the locker room after our treatments, a staff member aggressively brushed past my friend while cleaning and had a terrible attitude. After such an underwhelming experience, the last thing we needed was to be treated rudely by the staff.

Highly recommended, the facials are amazing driving 3 hours away from home is worth it. everyone is friendly. Especially Alejando he is attentive.

Honestly very disappointing spa. Not impressed by amenities either. Unfortunate because I love the bar and restaurant area. From beginning with the women’s locker room, there was a foul smell of urine lingering throughout the entire locker room along with dirty toilets. For the level of service that’s “offered”, I find it to be unacceptable for the bathroom to be dirty and not a clean smell in sight when entering the facility. Moving onto the massage, my masseuse was great, however between the non-relaxing music, no essential oils and no face cover for blocking light when being massaged upright — I find to be mediocre. (Especially for a $400 massage.) Additionally, I don’t find it to be luxurious nor convenient whatsoever, to not have bathing suits or any kind of a clothing store offered. I did not have a bathing suit with me as I flew in out of town and was looking forward to buying one here, yet come to find out there was nothing. Furthermore, extremely disappointed that upon accessing the pool it was very loud with chatter by a group of girls and when asking the front desk if there was anything they can do, they said unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about that. Very unacceptable response and for being a spa and a place of zen, people should have courtesy along with the establishment to remind guests to keep voices at a minimal tone. She later asked them to quiet down which I appreciated; however, shouldn’t have been a second thought/response. Moreover, the sever or worker on sight, was not very friendly either and did not provide fine service. When asking him how I order he said on the app and walked away. I don’t find this acceptable in any way for an ultra luxury hotel to offer this kind of amateur experience. I also did not have any cellular service and when asked about the WiFi I was told it’s no good and not to bother. I proceeded to ask how do I go about placing the order? The staff then relayed that’s the only way and wasn’t so open to offering other options until I became frustrated. I much rather prefer 1hotel as they always deliver a quality experience and never have these problems with them. Baccarat, please work on the level of service provided as it is not acceptable especially for the amount of money that’s being paid for these services. Happy to try again once these issues are resolved, however will not return in the mean time.

I received a massage session with Ruth, it was absolutely amazing. This is probably one of the most therapeutic sessions that I have had and will definitely treat myself again. It's nice to be able to enjoy the massage with a relaxing atmosphere and some of the most courteous staff that I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Do not come here! From the moment I walked in, I could tell this would be a subpar visit. Amenities: The check-in area is cramped and underwhelming, and the process felt disorganized. The locker room was tiny and overcrowded, making it difficult to find a locker or move around comfortably. They provide none of the essentials you’d expect at a luxury spa—no hairbrush, hair tie, makeup remover, etc. The shower was poorly maintained, barely functioning. Treatments: The massage and scrub ended early and the scrub in particular was a joke. The product used did not feel like high quality. Both the masseuse and esthetician for the facial were clearly inexperienced, and the quality and comfort of the services reflected that. At $1,200, this was an outrageous waste of money. As a seasoned spa-goer, I can confidently say you can find far better experiences for a fraction of the price. I feel bad for the tourists who will unknowingly spend so much for such poor value. The only redeeming factor was the staff, who were kind and polite. Unfortunately, that alone isn’t enough to justify such an overpriced and lackluster experience.
