Love the meatpacking area! It is an up and coming area and the stores are unique and sophisticated yet unpretentious. Interesting and easy to access was the spa. I was able to locate it since it was in the Gansevoort Hotel and check in and then head back out into the sunshine and check out the scene as I had some time to kill before the barre class and massage. The cobblestone area of meatpacking was a nice respite in NYC. Cute shops and nice restaurants to try. After the great barre class with a kind yet invigorating instructor, I had a cup of tea that they have their own brand of there for free for those who are receiving spa services! The hot tea was delightful and warming. They had a few kinds to choose from depending on your mood. After freshening up in the locker room (showers were just ok but other amenities nice such as hair gel), I went into the band-new sauna at the spa and it was heavenly. The magazines were nice to peruse while I waited for my masseuse. The massage was so good that I will go back there all the way from CONNECTICUT. Will was certainly the man for my flow massage and I may try him for a fusion very soon. Look into their Week of Transformation deal!

It looks like someone took a meat-cleaver to my face. I had moved to a new neighborhood near the meatpacking and decided to try a new spa to get my facials done at. I had a facial done here a few months ago and although everyone was very friendly I am very disappointed to say that the facial had long-term negative consequences that are going to require treatment. Now that I am fully healed Many new scars have surfaced from my facial at Exhale (meat packing) causing craters and uneven skin tone. I'm a professional model and this has caused great distress for me both personally and professionally. I've had many facials throughout my life and always had pride for taking care of my skin. I don't care what anyone says, NO ONE should ever walk away from a facial looking like this! I went to go see my previous Esthetician of three years for a second opinion and, she was too upset by the new scarring on my face. The pictures speak for themselves....

Stayed at the Gansevoort and booked a massage at Exhale. A woman called me the day before to confirm my appointment, and when I showed up at the time of my apt, the entire spa wasn't even open. The massage therapist was there early and was mortified that no one from the spa was around. Thankfully a hotel manager came around and gave the therapist a set of keys (she took full initiative to open up herself -- I was impressed by her) and she went in through the back way to set up and let me in. I don't think a receptionist showed for another hour to open up. The check-in area is not appealing at all, they have a chain link divider like retail stores in malls over a door. The thumbnail image of the inside spa area with the tubs -- that's it. That's the full spa lol you can also hear everything outside your room when getting the massage, wasn't bad for me because it was so early but I would've hated it had it been later in the day and much nosier. Spa charged us full price, and I don't recall if they even apologized for anything. Go to a real spa, don't waste your money here.

Had only one massage but the quality was horrible. I think they outsource their masseuse hence no system to check the legitimacy or sort.

The esthetician was wonderful and took great care of my skin! Will come back to Exhale for my next facial.
